The Research Training Group (RTG) 2070 „Understanding Social Relationships“ and the Department “Biological Personality Psychology” (Prof. Dr. Lars Penke) at the Georg-August-University Göttingen offer a position for a Ph.D. candidate (f/m) beginning on October 1st, 2018. The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (E13 TV-L) with 65% of the regular working hours (currently 25.87 hours per week) for up to three years.
The available position within the RTG will investigate hormone-related shifts in female personality processes, motivations and the dyadic empathic accuracy in romantic couples using a large, preregistered online diary study. A short description of the project can be found here under Projects (No. 4): www.uni-goettingen.de/social-relationships. The common aim of the RTG is to identify core principles explaining the development, maintenance and function of social relationships. Ideal candidates have a background in psychology (or related fields). A strong motivation to conduct research, the willingness to engage in scientific exchange with other disciplines and the ability to work independently are essential.
